We’ve known about the sequel since 2008, but the studio has kept quiet about its status ever since. A week of teases from director Michel Ancel gave way to Ubisoft’s official confirmation that Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in development at its Montpellier outpost. Ubisoft timed the giveaway with aplomb, considering the game’s recently heightened profile. Starting today until mid-November, grabbing a Windows PC copy of the classic action game is as easy as signing up for a Uplay account. It’s still a fantastic game that is worth another playthrough.Beyond Good & Evil is this month’s gift to Ubisoft fans, as the publisher is giving it away to Ubisoft Club subscribers throughout October. For now, you should probably add Beyond Good & Evil regardless of what version is available for free. We’ve reached out to Ubisoft for clarification and will update our story when we get a response. We wouldn’t be surprised if the version being offered by Ubisoft was the original 2003 release and not the 2011 HD version. In fact, its recommended PC specs require a Pentium III, Celeron, or AMD Athlon processor and a GPU that supports at least DirectX 9 and has 32MB of memory. Its HD version has since been made backwards compatible with the Xbox One and was featured as a Games with Gold title between August 16th, 2016 through September 1st, 2016.Īccording to its listing on Uplay, there’s only mention of its original release date and not of its follow-up HD release. Ubisoft Club members can head on over to Uplay starting today to in order to add it to their library. As Ubisoft promised last week, the PC version of Beyond Good & Evil has been made available for free via its Uplay service.
